傳說伯利恆之星也就是指引哲學家和星相家找到
耶穌誕生的那顆星星,所以聖誕節時,聖誕樹上一
定要插一顆大星星,那就是伯利恆之星.
傳說在耶穌誕生的前夕，一顆閃耀的星星引領東
方三博士來到伯利恆迎接救世主的降臨。
伯利恆之星，單從名字就令人感到一股神聖的力量；
於是在 Bach 花精裡，有人也稱其為「靈性的解救者」。
伯利恆之星的花呈端正的六芒星形，
純淨的白色對應頂輪的位置。

這首詩的原文是公元八世紀時，一位愛爾蘭的信徒所
寫，作者姓名失傳，但因原作是蓋爾語文(Gaelic）
使用古愛爾蘭措辭，故後人知道作者是居住在一個愛
爾蘭綠草如茵，山巔煙霧瀰漫的幽谷中。
1905年，柏妮（Mary E. Byrne, 1880-1931）將這首古
愛爾蘭詩英譯成散文，發表在雜誌上。
七年後，賀依理（Eleanor Henrietta Hull,1860-1935）
知道它原是詩體，又將散文改寫成詩。
這詩歌最初引用愛爾蘭民謠With My Love on the Road
，1919年被收集在愛爾蘭聖詩中，則以一小山名Slane
為曲調名。
這詩的曲調音程寬但旋律容易上口，廣受人們的喜愛。
每四句詩為一節，無重覆句。
這首具有獨特風格的聖詩，是歷久彌新的佳作，它的詞
曲一直觸動著渴慕基督的人的心。
